2018 HOLIDAYS TO ZANZIBAR & BEYOND

COMING OF AGE IN 2018 – We are 21 years old in 2018!

In 1997 we were the first tour operator to offer Zanzibar as its prime destination.

21 years on we continue to provide comprehensive, tailor made, holidays to Zanzibar, safaris in Tanzania and Kenya.

And we are adding INDIA as a destination for 2018

Taj Mahal, India

We always offer:

  • Great value for money.
  • Advice based our unrivaled knowledge of Zanzibar & Tanzania, and a good knowledge of India.
  • Complete support during the planning and booking stages of your holiday, as well as total support while you are on holiday, wherever your destination.

Our holiday prices are considerably less than booking direct with hotels, less priced than booking with large “international” companies and internet based hotel booking platforms (please do not believe their claims of offering the lowest prices), and you have peace of mind knowing that every element of your holiday (flights, accommodation, transfers, safari excursions, etc.) are all in place.

Contact us about a holiday

We will continue to offer accommodation to meet a wide range of needs and we will continue to offer holidays to meet (nearly) all budgets – we do not book extreme budget accommodation as we know many of the “cheap” hotels are not of a standard expected by people who book with us.

And New For 2018

We are pleased to offer a new destination for 2018.

INDIA

We have travelled the Sub Continent of India far and wide and are drawn back time and again to have new experiences in this vast country with its diverse and fascinating history, culture, beliefs, landscapes, architecture, monuments.

No post card, photo, blog, video, documentary or film (not even “The Marigold Hotel”) can truly capture the vibrancy, the colours, the aromas, the gentle hustle and bustle of India. It has to be experienced to be believed.

Working with our agent based in India we design holidays to meet each traveller’s personal needs. You will have an experienced driver for all road travel and specialist guides at different sites and towns. Just a few locations include:

Classic Rajasthan – Visit, the bazaars of Delhi, the magnificent Taj Mahal in Agra, the palaces and forts of Jaipur, Jodhpur and Udaipur; visit the holy town of Pushkar; search for tigers in Ranthambhore National Park; visit colorful Hindu temples and intricately carved Jain tempes; experience the sunset over the desert in the far west near Jaisalmer where you can also spend the night in a luxury Camel Camp.

Kerala & South West India – Spend a day/night cruising “The Backwaters” at Alleppey; visit the Colonial town of Cochin; spend time around Munar or Western Ghats where the hills are covered with tea, coffee and spice plantations; spend a little time on safari at Kabini Lake/ Nagarahole. No trip to Kerala is complete without time on the endless beaches on the Arabian Gulf. Time permitting, take the half day trip on the UNESCO World Heritage listed mountain railway up the Nilgiri Hills to the Colonial hill station of Ooty.

The Best of Tamil Nadu – with its towering temples, pilgrim centres, and food!! A day in the state’s capital of Chennai (formally Madras) and HQ of the (infamous) East India Company; stay a while in the former French stronghold of Pondicherry visiting the old French Quarter; further south to Tranquebar and the Danish Fort; head inland to Tanjore to visit Brihadishwara temple, Srirangam and Rock Fort in Trichy; head to Chettinad renown for the best curries in India with largely traffic free villages of stately mansions; Madurai, a pilgrimage centre, where you witness the spectacular evening ceremony at Sri Meenakshi Temple.

Highlights of Gujarat – the state of textiles, exquisite architecture, vibrant cities, desert and nomads. Bustling Ahmedabad with its textile factories, the home & shrine of Mahatma Gandhi, intricately carved wood houses; travel to Palitana and visit Shatrunjaya Hill with 850 temples; Gir National Park – the last refuge of the Asiatic lion, leopards, spotted deer, antelopes, wild boars, etc; travel to Bhuj and the Rann of Kutch, or “White Desert” due to its salt marshes with small villages plied, as it has been for centuries, by the camel trains of the Rabari people; Gujarat has many fine beaches to finish your holiday.

Accommodation – We favour “heritage” hotels – mansions and small palaces which have been sympathetically converted in to hotels, often run by the family which has owned the establishment for several generations. Many are furnished with antiques and family heirlooms; rooms are normally exceptionally large and food authentically Indian.
